Bloody sculptures by Jessica Harrison
Born in St Bees in 1982, Jessica Harrison moved to Scotland to study sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art in 2000, going on to do an MFA before completing a practice-led PhD in sculpture in 2013 funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Her research considers the relationship between interior and exterior spaces of the body, but looks neither inwards towards a hidden core, nor outwards from the subconscious, instead looking orthogonally across the skin to the movement of the body itself, using the surface of the body as a mode of both looking and thinking.

Seung Mo Park, korean sculptor, made this series of portraits made of metal wire which is just stunning. A supertangled mass of pieces of metal wire can create something almost iperrealistic in its precise shading. Speechless.
Lee Price is a figurative painter from New York.
She creates realistic oil on canvas with women and food in their intimate and private settings.
About her work she says: “In this society, there’s so much pressure for women to be thin. We’re not supposed to have appetites – and not just for food, but for a lot of things. We’re the givers and not the consumers, and I think some of my recent paintings are about the women staring at the viewers and saying, ‘I’m not going to censor my appetite”.
